Perched along the shores of Lake Killarney in Winter Park, this contemporary residence was thoughtfully designed to embrace its remarkable natural setting. Mature cypress trees, carefully preserved during construction, became the inspiration for the home’s architectural language, creating a seamless dialogue between the built environment and the landscape that has defined the property for generations.

Drawing from the principles of Brazilian modernism, the interiors celebrate warmth, simplicity, and an effortless connection to nature. A rich palette of white oak, earthy stone, and deep olive-green cabinetry grounds the home, while sculptural forms and organic textures soften its clean contemporary lines. Every material was selected to evoke a sense of permanence, allowing the home to feel both sophisticated and deeply rooted in its surroundings.

Throughout the living spaces, custom millwork and vertical oak slat detailing introduce rhythm and architectural depth, while expansive glazing fills the interiors with natural light and frames views of the surrounding canopy. Warm brass accents, layered lighting, and tactile finishes create an atmosphere that evolves beautifully throughout the day, shifting with the changing light over the lake.

Designed for both quiet retreat and effortless entertaining, the home balances modern restraint with inviting comfort. Every space encourages a connection to the outdoors, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape while celebrating the beauty of the preserved cypress trees just beyond the windows.

The result is a home that feels timeless rather than trend-driven—a refined interpretation of Brazilian modern design that honors its lakeside setting through natural materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the landscape.
