Henley Downs

Henley Downs Place is a study in layered warmth, where contemporary design is softened by Mediterranean influences to create a home that feels both timeless and inviting. Located in Lake Mary, Florida, the project transformed an underutilized sitting room into one of the home’s most cherished gathering spaces.

Drawing inspiration from the colors of the Mediterranean coast, the palette combines soft turquoise and warm coral accents to bring energy, depth, and personality to the interiors while maintaining a relaxed, livable atmosphere. Thoughtfully selected furnishings and natural textures reinforce the balance between refined elegance and everyday comfort.

At the heart of the room, a newly installed gas fireplace serves as both a functional addition and an architectural focal point. A reclaimed wood mantel, crafted from the timbers of a historic barn by a local artisan, introduces a sense of authenticity and history, adding richness and character to the contemporary space.

One of the defining architectural features is the custom tray ceiling, finished in a pale blue that subtly echoes the tones found throughout the room. This unexpected detail draws the eye upward while creating a harmonious dialogue between the architecture and furnishings, giving the space a cohesive, collected feel.
